Marshmallow toss
A game invented by my very own mother for our family nights when I was growing up. It’s a simple tossing game (kind of like a bean bag toss) you can set up with things you have around the house (marshmallows, muffin tins, you know).
Hot or cold
A really simple hide-and-seek type game. It’s a good kind of quiet, not-too-disruptive game for little kids involving hiding an object and giving clues to help players find it.
First word
This is a simple talking game you can plan to learn more about your family or friends. Great for killing time and fun to play even with people you know really well.
Claps
This clapping routine game is set of hand routines involving snaps, claps, and slaps. You learn the routine, then the fun is doing it over and over, getting faster and faster. We played it at girls’ camp a lot while we waited for our food in the mess hall.

Here’s a fun game group you can use as a get-to-know-you game, or just to play with friends or family. Involves speed, memory, and usually laughter. It works well for lots of age groups, too.
